Northern China Late 19th ct.     A Peking carpet with a  very attractive light blue color scheme. Four dragon medaillons frame a center medaillon composed of two stylized phoenix symbols. The remaining field shows various taoistic ornaments. Border frame with geometric meander ornaments and floral peony arabesques.
